“Thripura” three homes, that is the essence or composition of a person. Body, Conscious mind and Unconscious mind. Body is visible to all and other two Puras are not visible. Several thousand years ago great people who lived before us under stood this fact and all teachings were based on these three principles.
Some sages eve tried to go beyond three puras a fourth one a complete nirvana, be with that magnificent power called God. In this stage all body functions and conscious and unconscious mind seize to function but nature will keep life preserved.
Great people like, Sri Buddha, Jesus and Mohamed might have experienced this fourth stage before their public life. All three ,shaped their teachings based on one theory that life with out ego and selfish motives. They knew that mankind is in eternal danger as long as the conscious mind is controlled by ego and selfishness.
There is only one highest reality ‘Thy’ call by any name and in what ever language. From ‘That‘, all life in general , including humans arise. All countries, religions and institutions took shape from this source. There are so many great people lived before us and so many books of wisdom written for us. Still thinking there is only one way to see the ‘Thy’ comes from ignorance. Goal of life is not found in side the four walls of institutions or its leaders. Nor, rituals, sacraments or preaching. Wisdom, joy and freedom come from inner calm. Our minds are filled with so much noise that we don’t even understand. This never ending voice pollution will not allow our mind to be silent and allow the ’Thy’ to enter. Sun will not arise for one religion and the wind will not fall just for one institution. Love all, as we are all drops of water in one ocean.
Have we wondered, why is it in spite of all these great teachers and their teachings no change has taken place in our lives and we have not found peace. Don’t you think, we are still trapped on the same repetition of noisy prayers and rituals. We subscribe to prescribed prayers and dogmas and taking them as some kind of medicine hoping some day somehow will cure us. It will not happen. And when we go to listen to these great gurus, we are indeed, psychologically asleep and very often even physically asleep. Most of the time fear, the fear of the un known is our driver taking us to all these noisy places.
There is nothing wrong with studying great books like Bible, Vedas or Quran under the umbrella of a religion. In fact, we must read and study these books. Think, what would be our aim when we take up the study of a scripture seriously. First of all we must realize that only an empty pot can receive water. We must be free from all trappings, empty our minds then start reading. Try to understand clearly what these great books are about. If we do that certainly, these books will lead us to get out of all trappings and the noisy world.
Our conscious mind is our greatest teacher. We must listen to this teacher very carefully. If we keep our mind clean and stay away from polluted atmosphere , then our conscious mind will work and only lead us to love others and find happiness in that process.
